Geologic Principles

Introductory Earth Science coarse covering the fundamentals of geosciences, with an emphasis on solid Earth topics.

Responsibilities

Prepare and lead discussion and laboratory sections. In addition to assisting on lab section field trip, created an image-based “virtual” fieldtrip for students who were unable to attend.

Topics Covered

Discussion: Fundamentals of stratigraphy, petrology, geophysics, and tectonics; manipulating units of measurement; review of lecture topics.

Laboratory: Rock and mineral ID, interpreting geologic maps, structural geology, geomorphology.
